Privacy policy

tintpixels has no accounts, no advertising trackers and no cookie banner, because it doesn't need one. This page explains the little data that is processed when you visit.

Hosting and delivery

The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, your browser necessarily sends technical data to Cloudflare's servers:

This data is used only to deliver the site, keep it stable and protect it against attacks and abuse. To tell people and bots apart, Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie (such as __cf_bm). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; for the security cookie, § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). Logs are kept only as long as needed for these purposes.

We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, so transfers to the USA rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). More in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Visitor statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It works without cookies, does not store anything on your device and does not track you across sites or visits. It records page views, the referring page, browser type and the country derived from your IP address; your IP address itself is not stored. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Fonts

All fonts are served from this site. Your browser does not connect to Google or any other font provider.

Settings stored in your browser

If you switch the colour theme, pick desktop or phone wallpapers, or save favourites, these choices are stored in your browser's local storage so they are still there next time. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser. Storing it is necessary to provide the features you asked for (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG).

Downloads

Wallpaper files are stored in Cloudflare R2, Cloudflare's storage service, with the storage location set to the EU, and delivered from our download address media.tintpixels.com. When you download a wallpaper, your browser requests the file from there, and Cloudflare processes the same technical data as for any page request (see “Hosting and delivery”) to deliver it, on the same legal basis. No cookies are set for downloads, and we don't evaluate downloads per person; at most we see how often files were requested in total.

Voluntary support via Ko-fi

The footer links to our page on Ko-fi, run by Ko-fi Labs Limited (United Kingdom), where you can support tintpixels with a voluntary payment. The link is a plain link: nothing from Ko-fi is loaded on this site, and no data is sent to Ko-fi unless you follow it. On Ko-fi, Ko-fi's own privacy policy applies, and payments are processed by PayPal or Stripe.

If you support us, Ko-fi passes on to us the name you enter, your email address, the amount and any message you leave. We use this only to handle your payment, thank you and answer questions about it (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR), and we keep payment records as long as tax law requires (Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR). For transfers to the United Kingdom, the European Commission's adequacy decision applies (Art. 45 GDPR).

Sharing a wallpaper

The Share menu on wallpapers offers links to X, Reddit, Pinterest, Facebook, WhatsApp, Bluesky, Telegram and email. These are plain links: nothing from these services is loaded on this site, and no data is sent to them unless you choose one. If you do, your browser opens that service with the wallpaper's address, title and preview image filled in, and that service's own privacy policy applies. “Copy link” and your device's own share menu work entirely on your device; we don't learn whether or where you share.

Contacting us

If you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR). Emails to hello@tintpixels.com are forwarded by Cloudflare's email routing service. We delete them once the matter is settled, unless we are legally required to keep them.

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 15–18, 20 and 21 GDPR). To use these rights, email hello@tintpixels.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state where you live or where the alleged infringement took place (Art. 77 GDPR).
